Breathtaking views are made full use of in this 700sqm penthouse by Arthur Casas. Located in Urca, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, between the sea and Sugarloaf Mountain.
A redevelopment of two floors in a building from the 70s, it was completely redesigned removing as much wall area as possible, using transparent surfaces as often as possible. The living space can be reshaped via hidden retractable partitions, adding privacy if needed.
The openness is so appealing, drawing you to the panoramic views, up stairways, and out onto sun-drenched balconies and swimming pools. But the nostalgic setting has not been lost as the interior design cleverly evokes the era the structure was originally built in. See the original post to view the gorgeous interiors.
